Founder’s Story: Meet Lamont Miller
Lamont Miller is the founder of Faith Conquers Fear, a nonprofit organization created to encourage individuals and families facing cancer and life’s toughest challenges through faith, hope, and community support.
Lamont’s mission was born from his own personal battle with prostate cancer. After unknowingly living for nearly two years with growing cancer — following missed warning signs related to elevated PSA levels — his life changed forever during a visit to a urologist. At that appointment, he learned that his PSA level had risen to 9.0, a number that left him shocked, afraid, and uncertain about the future.
At the time, Lamont had recently welcomed twin boys into the world. The diagnosis brought overwhelming fear, emotional distress, and deep concern about whether he would be there to watch his children grow. Like many people facing a cancer diagnosis, he felt lost, uncertain, and unsure of what steps to take next.
Through faith, prayer, perseverance, and the support of others, Lamont found strength during one of the darkest seasons of his life. That experience inspired him to create Faith Conquers Fear — a movement dedicated to uplifting and encouraging people facing cancer, illness, fear, and adversity.
His mission is to remind others that even in moments of uncertainty, faith can overcome fear, hope can rise from hardship, and no one should have to fight alone.
Ultimately, Lamont’s long-term goal is to establish a non-clinical cancer support facility where individuals and families affected by cancer can receive encouragement, guidance, and community-based support in a welcoming environment. The facility would not provide medical treatment or clinical care, but would serve as a safe and compassionate space for education, peer support, resource navigation, workshops, family encouragement, and faith-based emotional support.
Through this facility, Faith Conquers Fear would offer people facing cancer a place to connect with others who understand their journey, access trusted information, find practical resources, and receive the hope and encouragement needed to face each day with strength..

What We Do
Educational Workshops
We host workshops that help individuals and families better understand cancer-related issues, treatment support, prevention awareness, caregiving challenges, emotional wellness, and available community resources.

Our peer-led support groups create safe spaces where people affected by cancer can share experiences, receive encouragement, and build meaningful connections with others who understand the journey.
Resource Navigation
We help connect individuals and families with local services, healthcare providers, support programs, financial assistance resources, transportation options, and community organizations that may be able to help.
Community Awareness Events
Faith Conquers Fear hosts and participates in community events designed to raise awareness, promote early detection, reduce stigma, and foster healing through education, fellowship, and outreach.

We develop and distribute materials that reflect the needs, voices, and lived experiences of diverse communities. Our goal is to provide information that is clear, respectful, relevant, and empowering.
Our Commitment
All Faith Conquers Fear services are provided free of charge or at minimal cost. We partner with healthcare providers, churches, community organizations, local agencies, volunteers, and donors to expand access and bring meaningful support directly to the communities that need it most.
